Page Bond Gallery is pleased to present Nocturne: new paintings by B Millner. The exhibitions open Friday, November 2 from 6 to 8pm and is on view through December 1, 2018.
B. Millner completed his undergraduate studies at Davidson College and earned his MBA at the University of North Carolina. His retirement from a career in business was illuminated by his shift to art making. Early on he tackled sculpture and more recently his practice has taken a deep dive into realist painting. He splits his studio time between Virginia and Maine, animating the canvas with the scenes of urban and rural architecture and waterscapes. In his newest body of work, he plays with shadows, light and reflection in night scenes that showcase architectural features often missed in daylight. The rain-swept street scenes offer a photorealistic quality, where figures sometimes appear as a natural component of the urban landscape.
