“Imaginary Meadow” is part of a series of paintings investigating human perception of the natural world.
In this image, stylized impressions of flowers are superimposed onto a more naturalistic meadow landscape. These differing modes of representation are combined in order to trouble the sense of authority in landscape painting, and to evoke different methods of seeing and understanding an ecosystems around us.
