Madeleine Landaker is a painter who grew up in Virginia and is currently based in Richmond, Virginia.
She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and received her BFA in Painting and Printmaking in 2024. She attended her first artist residency, Arts, Letters, & Numbers, in September 2024. She attended her second artist residency abroad in France at The Chateau d’Orquevaux Artists and Writers Residency in September of 2025. Madeleine currently has work on display at the Salmagundi Art Club in New York in their current exhibition Bold Strokes.
Madeleine’s current work displays her exploration of memory and nostalgia from her personal experiences. Whether through her illustrative and interpretive pieces, or her more painterly style referenced through photographs, there is a layer of surrealism to her work that adds a warped sense of reality; similar to how she feels when reflecting back on moments in time.
