Margaret Walker is a photographer and textile artist whose work explores image-making as a documentary tool for memory.
Through photography and textiles, she considers how stories, relationships, and shared experiences are carried across generations. Her work reflects on family, domestic spaces, and the ways memory becomes attached to objects, images, and places. Using layered imagery and combined imagery, Walker documents moments of connection while questioning photography’s relationship to truth, remembrance, and storytelling.
Walker received her BFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and her MFA from the University of Maryland in 2025. She is currently Visiting Professor of Photography at Roanoke College.
