Life is out there, 2026
Katy Layman is an artist based in Richmond, Virginia exploring the entanglement of physical and digital space, the gamification of lived experience, and the hidden stakes of play.
After earning her BFA from Virginia Tech in 2018, she moved to Japan where she participated in group and solo exhibitions in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.
In 2025, she moved back to her home state of Virginia where she is currently pursuing her MFA at Virginia Commonwealth University.
