Ashton Nelson

Ashton Nelson is a transdisciplinary weaver from Illinois, currently pursuing a BFA in Craft and Material Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Their work combines technical research into historical and contemporary weaving and sculpture practices, philosophy, and queer theory to produce nonfunctional textile objects and sculptures. They have participated in group shows at ADA Gallery and The Anderson Gallery in Richmond, Virginia, Color Club in Chicago, Illinois, and the George Beuhr Gallery at Ox-Bow School of Art in Saugatuck, Michigan.
